Project: 2015-2017
Building status : 2017 - ongoing
Area : 10.000 sq meters
Design theme & concept :
First forest kindergarden in Romania, developed by romanian investors in - Baneasa Forest close to Bucharest.
The initial concept was to create a space for children to play in nature. From 2015 I started to study the design implications in children play and learning through play for a well balanced development, physical and social skills. I had children psychologists to consult me for certain elements in the projec. I managed to integrate a series of Montessory,Piaget, Vygotsky(and other) priciples for children development through play in nature.
The project is vast and is hard to describe in words and even images the positive impact of being surrounded by a well cared forest and elements that engage and attract visitors, children and adults.
With my coleagues, we studied the micro habitat of this forest in order to preserve and enhance the natural flora, fauna and avifauna, as well as any type of insects or amphibians.
Through design I integrated a small "farm area" with domestic animals and edible garden that children love .
