Irish pub - winter garden terrace
Project: 2012
Building status : 2012 - finished
Area : 110 sq meters
Design theme & concept :
Winter garden concept came initially from the clients wish to have more green in the terrace during summer but in the cold season,as well. The terrace is situated very close to the sea shore, so the surrounding landscape was a big motive to have large windows which help the indoor plants as well. Being a large, tall space the plants used and their dimensions were influenced by the need to reduce noise during crowded hours, and create a more intimate and friendly vibe for the restaurants clients. The center piece, a secular Olive tree surrounded partially by old wine cases reused as planters . One other direction for the design was to obtain a low maintenance green space. Planters and plants were chose with this aspect in mid as well, and in consideration for future low cost , to no cost sustaining the green aspect .
